This bespoke Italian plaster-on-canvas painting is one of a kind. It is handcrafted with authentic Italian plaster by patiently layering pigmented plaster to achieve a unique texture and colour effect that gives the work its remarkable depth and vividness.

“Transience” is the limited series of original portraits on canvas that explores the definitions of beauty. The vast spectrum of human beauty cannot be defined by the lines of the body, age, skin tone, fashion style or perfection, but instead comes through as the intertwining of personality, inner light and the colours of self-expression. It is about finding the balance outside any definitions and expectations. Anything else is transient.

 

Texture becomes an expressive medium in these portraits. Made by layering pigmented Italian plaster on stretched canvas, these works are accentuated with touches of gold, acrylic glaze or ink.

Texture is an important expressive medium, and an intuitive creative process that guides my trowel. This loosening of control enables me to create works with a natural flow and tactility. By layering pigmented plaster, I am able to create a palpable texture that becomes part of the image.

Framed Options:

This work comes unframed. If you wish to have it framed, please let me know when you place your order. Framing can take two to four weeks. The cost will depend on your choice of frame design and will be invoiced separately.

This is an original work, unique in its execution and to its owner. It is one of a kind and cannot be replicated. Your piece will be the only one like it, anywhere in the world. Each piece is signed and dated by the artist and comes with a printed certificate of authenticity. It includes the image of the artwork, the edition number and artwork details.

All Vacarda Design artwork is carefully packed and sent with tracked and signed air courier. Please allow for at least two weeks for your artwork to be prepared for shipping.

 

Some large pieces will be sent crated with a courier specialising in fine art deliveries. Such delivery might take up to five weeks to arrive to you. Please reach out to us if have any questions.
