  • Soleness is a actile artwork that combines the textures of Venetian plaster, soft wool and pure cotton yarn on a circular birch base.

     

    This original artwork was made in collaboration with Jacqui-May Wylie, an Irish weaver from Co. Armagh. It brings together two seemingly incompatible craft materials that do not usually come together as one entity in one form, demonstrating the cohesion of creative thinking and an unconventional approach to craft and making. The woven part was created first and then a stucco plaster finish was matched to the tones of the yarn.
